Sacraments

First Communion

Second graders are given in-depth instruction in preparation for their First Communion. They receive the Sacrament of First Eucharist during a special liturgy which occurs on a Saturday in the spring.

First Reconciliation

An important part of the Second Grade religion curriculum, is the preparation for the reception of First Reconciliation. This Sacrament is received sometime between November and February.

Confirmation

Eighth graders receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in the spring. The year-long preparation program is an integral part of the Eighth Grade religion curriculum.

Sacramental Life

Confirmation is a two year process. Participating in Sacraments is an important part of the spiritual life at St. James School. All classes attend Mass weekly. During Advent and Lent, Third through Eighth grades partake in the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
