Courtney Voskuhl
Visual ArtsCourtney Voskuhl is St. James School’s Art teacher for grades TK-8. She has been on staff for four years. Before becoming the Art teacher, she volunteered for six years as a monthly Art Docent and Teacher at SJS.
Mrs. Voskuhl earned her Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Childhood Development from UC Berkeley in 2001. She obtained her CTE Arts, Media, and Entertainment Teaching Credential from Sacramento State University in 2025. Prior to education, Mrs. Voskuhl worked for ten years in the public sector as the Education Executive for L’Oreal where she developed curriculum for national employee trainings.
Mrs. Voskuhl is passionate about STEM fields and hands-on, project-based learning approaches that encourage creativity, problem-solving, and innovation through designing and tinkering. She belongs to a Maker Education group that meets once a month at Folsom College to explore ways to introduce and build maker spaces for children.
Mrs. Voskuhl chose Catholic education for her three sons because she wanted to nurture their faith and instill strong character traits. She believes, as Pope Francis expresses, that creative work makes perceptible “the world of the spirit and of God”. She believes that a Catholic school provides children with a safe, academically enriching environment that values both faith and the Arts. This environment allows all children the opportunity to grow, create, and engage with the world in a meaningful way.
