Admission Guidelines 2019-2020


Transitional Kindergarten

All incoming TK students must be at least 4 years old by September 1st. We administer a test to all applicants to help determine individual readiness for our all-day TK program and to ensure Saint James School can meet the needs of the student.


Kindergarten

All incoming Kindergarten students must be at least 5 years old by September 1st. We administer a test to all applicants to help determine individual readiness for our all-day kindergarten program and to ensure Saint James School can meet the needs of the student.


New students Grades 1 to 8

All students applying for admission into Grades 1 to 8 will be administered a test by the incoming teacher. The test is to verify appropriate grade placement and to determine whether Saint James School can meet the needs of the transfer student.


Enrollment Priority

Enrollment Priority is given in the following order:

  1. Siblings of currently enrolled families
  2. Families who are registered and active parishioners at Saint James, Saint Anthony or Saint Peter parishes
  3. Catholic families registered at parishes not listed above
  4. Non-Catholic families

Registration Fee 2019-2020

There is a $300 per student registration fee

Capital Improvement Fee 2019-2020

Each family is assessed a $200 capital improvement fee, which is used to help fund the major capital improvements and repairs of the school buildings and grounds. The $200 fee will be collected on July 31st as most planned repairs, maintenance and improvements are completed during the summer months.
